Charges of employment discrimination dismissed by the District Court of Pirkanmaa

CHARGES OF EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION DISMISSED BY THE DISTRICT COURT OF PIRKANMAA

The District Court of Pirkanmaa has today, 5 December 2019, issued its ruling in the case of suspected employment discrimination in the recruitment of Aamulehti’s Editor-in-Chief in late 2017. The District Court of Pirkanmaa has dismissed the charges of employment discrimination against Alma Media Corporation’s President and CEO Kai Telanne and SVP, Human Resources Virpi Juvonen.

In its ruling, the District Court found that the defendants have not set Päivi Anttikoski in a disadvantageous position because of her gender as alleged in the charges. All charges were dismissed.
