Announcement:The domestic Sinuna log-in service will be discontinued

The two-year pilot period of the Sinuna login service did not meet the goals set for it, and it has been decided to discontinue it on February 28, 2024. The Sinuna login solution, created by the Finnish Authentication Cooperative specifically for the media industry, aimed to replace traditional passwords. What is Alma Account?

Alma Account is your common user name for Alma Media’s digital services.
Use your Alma Account to safely and easily access Alma’s services with a single login.
You can smoothly navigate from one Alma service to another and get more content targeted at you.
Alma Account allows you to access the comprehensive news offerings of your subscribed media and access a wide range of housing, mobility and job search services.

If you do not already have an Alma Account, you can create it from the pages of the services, from the “Login” menu, which is most often located in the upper right corner of the page. Alma Account will also be created for you with a new subscription if you have not already had it in use.

  • 1 What is Alma Account

    Alma Account is a common user name and password for Alma Media’s services to log in to various media, services, applications and discussion boards in Alma. Alma Account allows for a smooth transition from one Alma web service to another.

    The user name used for consumer services of the Alma Account and the user name used for business services are separate.

  • 2 What is Alma Business Account?

    Alma Business Account is the username used for Alma’s business services. Alma Account used for consumer services and Alma Business Account used for business services are separate and, in law, the IDs must be treated as separate users.

    If you have both a personal and Alma Business Account with the same email but with different passwords, and you have stored your password in a browser or password manager, be careful as your browser or password manager may suggest using the wrong password to use and update over another password when you log in.

    In consumer services, you will receive a notification of an incorrect username or password. In business services, you will receive a notification of an incorrect username or password and will be directed to verify that you used the correct password for the ID.

  • 3 Where can I create my Alma Account?

    Creating Alma Accoung is simple from the services login form, using the “create Alma Account” button. Alma Account will also be created for you when placing a new service order if you have not created the Alma Account before.

    If you have a pre-existing ID for one of Alma’s services, log in with your username and service password. At first access, your username will be changed to Alma Account and your information related to the use of the service will be associated with the new Account. In the future, other services using Alma Account will use the same ID and password. Use of Alma Account is free of charge.

  • 4 In which services can I use Alma Account?

    Alma Account currently works for Alma’s services listed above. ID currently works in Alma’s economic, political and leisure media, as well as housing, motoring and job search services. Alma Account will expand in stages to cover all of Alma’s media and services.

  • 5 I have a pre-existing ID for one of Alma’s services such as Kauppalehti. Can I change it to Alma Account?

    Your existing ID and password will automatically change into an Alma Account. Change does not require any action from you.

  • 6 Is Alma Account personal or can I share it to friends or family members?

    Alma Account is your personal ID and cannot be passed on. Check out the Terms and Conditions at the bottom of the page.

  • 7 I would like to create Alma Account for someone under 18. Is that possible?

    Creating Alma Account for a person under 18 years of age is possible. Please note that the guardians of the minor user are responsible for the user’s actions. Check out the Terms and Conditions at the bottom of the page.

  • 8 How many devices can I be logged in with my Alma Account at the same time?

    Alma Account does not limit login times. However, your subscription may limit the number of simultaneous sessions.

  • 9 I have forgotten my login details. What do I do?

    You can change your password via “forgot your password?” function in all services. You can find the function in the login form.

  • 10 I already tried to change my password, but the email needed to do so has not arrived. What do I do?

    Check your email spam folder. Some email services automatically interpret sent emails as spam. If the message is not found, please kindly contact the customer service of that media or service.

  • 11 Why the password I saved in the browser does not work?

    If you have both a personal and Alma Business Account with the same email but with different passwords, and you have stored your password in a browser or password manager, be careful as your browser or password manager may suggest using the wrong password to use and update over the other password when you log in.

    In Alma’s consumer services, you will receive a notification of an incorrect username or password. In Alma’s business services, you will receive a notification of an incorrect username or password and you will be directed to verify that you used the correct password for the ID.

  • 12 Can my Alma Account expire?

    If you do not sign in with your Alma Account for a year, you will receive an email message from our service. If you have not used the Alma Account for two years, the ID will be passivated. The unused ID will be removed from the service after three years.

  • 13 What is the information related to my Alma Account used for?

    Information related to Alma Account is used for login, order management, product development, and advertising targeting. We want to make your Alma experience as good as possible and we strive to provide content and marketing that is right for you.

  • 14 Can I personally influence what content and ads are shown to me?

    By using Alma Account, our services have the information needed for personalization, and it is possible to produce content that is targeted to you. We are progressively developing users’ ability to personalize content and ads.

  • 15 How can I stay logged in?

    Alma Account is a single sign-on ID that allows you access to Alma’s various media and services. The same ID goes to every service that uses Alma Account. Login can be done automatically using the credential that you provide.

    In some services, you will be asked for confirmation of the Account you are using. Please note that if your browser deletes cookies after browsing, your browser will no longer remember logging in next time.

    If you sign in to a service using your Alma Business Account and go from there to a consumer service — or the other way around — you will have to sign in again, as the Alma consumer Account and the Account used for business services are separate and, in law, the Accounts must be treated as separate users.

  • 16 What if I can’t use my Alma Account or I can’t login or I have some other problem situation?

    Alma Account has been tested to work on most common browsers. Make sure that the browser you are using is on the list of supported browsers.

    Supported browsers are: IE11 or later, as well as recent versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. In case of problems, please contact the customer service of the relevant media or service.

  • 17 How do I log in using my Facebook or Google account?

    In the login window, click the service button.

    You will be asked for permission to use the Alma Account in connection with your account. Accept the request.

    If you have a pre-existing Alma Account, you will link your Facebook and/or Google credentials to the Facebook and/or Google ID that you use at the time of login and you can use your chosen identification method in the future.

    If you are using a service with Alma Account for the first time, we will create your personal Alma Account when logging in.

    The email address of your Facebook and/or Google account will serve as your ID and you can also log in directly with your email address and password by updating your Alma  password.

    What do I do if my CMP consent settings prevent Facebook login?
    Facebook Login utilizes cookies, which Facebook also uses to target content and advertising. In order to use Facebook login, you must accept cookies.
    Follow the following steps:
    1. Go to the service where you tried to log in, for example, to the Kauppalemagazine page
    2. Go to the bottom of that page and select Cookie settings in the footer (footer)
    3. Make changes where you allow content and advertising to be targeted under “Partners” in the cookie settings
    4. After the changes, sign in with your Alma Account again to the service

  • 18 Login with Apple ID

    In the login window, click the Apple ID button.

    You will be asked for permission to log in to the Alma Account with your Apple ID and the email address attached to it. Accept the request.

    If you have a pre-existing Alma Account, you will link your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used when logging in and you can use the authentication method you have chosen in the future.

    If you are using a service with Alma Account for the first time, we will create your personal Alma Account when logging in.

    The email address of the Apple ID account you use will act as your ID, and by updating your Alma password, you can also log in directly with your email address and password in the future. Please note that this requires that you have accepted the sharing of your email associated with Apple ID under “Create an account”, “share my address” or “hide my address”.

  • 19 What information does my Alma Account get from Facebook or Google about me?

    Only information necessary for identification is brought to your Alma Account. We don’t save your password.

    Your activity with your Facebook and/or Google accounts will not be saved or exploited in the process of identification.

  • 20 I don’t want to use Facebook or Google login anymore. How do I stop using them?

    Please remove the Alma Account app from your Facebook/Google app settings.

  • 21 How can I delete my Alma Account?

    You can delete your ID at Alma Account Self-Service (in Finnish at the moment).

    If you have a subscription with your Alma Account (such as Kauppalehti magazine digital subscription, IL Plus subscription, or e.g. Etuovi.com search), please contact customer service for that service.
