ALMA MEDIA ACQUIRES LOUNAIS-LAPPI

Lounais-Lappi, a twice-weekly town paper published in the Kemi-Tornio area, is changing ownership. Forum24 Oy, a subsidiary of Kaleva Group, has sold the entire share capital of Julkaisupalvelu Lounais-Lappi Oy to Alma Media Corporation. The transaction does not affect the operations of Lounais-Lappi.

Alma Regional Media publishes the daily regional newspaper Pohjolan Sanomat in the same economic area.

– Lounais-Lappi is a well-managed town paper with a strong editorial team. It is an excellent complement to our service offering in the Sea Lapland area. The paper will continue to be published twice a week, on the same days as before, says Kari Juutilainen, Senior Vice President, Alma Regional Media.

The ownership of Lounais-Lappi will be transferred to Alma Media on 14 June 2013. The parties have agreed not to publish the price of the acquisition. Lounais-Lappi has 10 employees, all of whom will be transferred to Alma Media.

Alma Regional Media publishes five newspapers, 17 local subscription papers and 10 town papers across Finland.
