Upturn in the number of readers for Kauppalehti

Number of readers for Kauppalehti and Kauppalehti Optio are increasing. In accordance with the recent National Readership Survey, the number of readers for Kauppalehti rose by 6% during the last year. The number of readers is currently 193,000. The number of readers for Kauppalehti Optio increased by 5.8% and amounted to 219,000. Kauppalehti and Kauppalehti Optio are part of Alma Media Group.
The increase in circulation also reflects the strengthened position of Kauppalehti. According to the extraordinary official audit, the circulation of Kauppalehti was 86,577 copies in the first half of 2008, breaking the record level of 2001.
Mr. Juha-Petri Loimovuori, Managing Director of Kauppalehti Oy, considers that the upturn is very positive news that he has been expecting. – I don’t think that even an economic recession would jeopardize this development we have achieved.
– The increase in the number of readers confirms our perception that it is well worthwhile to develop the printed newspaper. However, the newspaper has to further improve to interest its readers so it would be read even more regularly than today, Mr. Loimovuori states. – The redesign of Kauppalehti in the turn of the year will make a great opportunity for us.
The Kauppalehti readership is increasing also in the internet. hit once again its own records, as more than 404,361 unique users visited the website within one week.
