Alma Media becomes a shareholder of Etua loan comparison service

Alma Media Corporation        Press Release March 9,2018

ALMA MEDIA BECOMES A SHAREHOLDER OF ETUA LOAN COMPARISON SERVICE

Alma Media has acquired 20 per cent of the share capital of Etua.fi, a provider of competitive tender services for loans and insurances, through a directed share issue. Established in 2008, Etua.fi is the longest-operating loan comparison service in Finland. The parties have agreed not to disclose the price of the investment.

In 2017, the loan comparison service had approximately MEUR 2.5 in revenue.

The goal of Etua.fi is to make everyday money matters easier for consumers. The service allows users to compare consumer credits, renovation loans, travel loans, loans without collateral and housing loans. The company works in co-operation with over 20 financial sector companies and forwards the loan applications submitted through the online service to its partners. More than 880,000 loan applications have been transmitted to date.

“In recent years, Alma Media has increased its service business by acquiring various competitive tender services, for example. Etua.fi is an excellent fit alongside Alma’s digital marketplaces. Above all, we will be able to offer consumers an even wider range of services, as many of our consumer services involve applying for credit,” says Kari Kivelä, Senior Vice President of the Alma News & Life business unit.

“Alma Media’s marketing power will strengthen Etua.fi’s brand awareness and enable the development of new kinds of service entities,” adds Etua Oy’s Managing Director Antti Aarvala.
