Matti Posio to substitute the Editor-in-Chief of Lapin Kansa

Mr Matti Posio, News Editor of Aamulehti, age 38, has been appointed the Editor-in-Chief of Lapin Kansa for a period starting from October 1, 2012 and ending on July 31, 2013. Matti Posio will act as the substitute for Mr Antti Kokkonen, Editor-in-Chief. Mr Kokkonen will start his study leave in the beginning of October.

Matti Posio has worked at Aamulehti as a News Editor responsible for Debate and Culture since 2010. Prior to that, he acted four years as the Producer and Supervisor for Aamulehti's Sunday supplements. He has worked at Aamulehti editorial office and in Alma Media since 1995, for instance as the Moscow Correspondent of Kauppalehti and Aamulehti in 1999 - 2001. Matti Posio holds a degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences.

Antti Kokkonen will participate in Europäische Journalisten Fellowships (EJF) program in the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. In his studies, Kokkonen will research the road map of a regional newspaper from print to online and tablet devices.

Lapin Kansa is part of Alma Media's Alma Regional Media business unit. The unit publishes five regional newspapers and several local and city papers across Finland.
