Senior Accountant, Record to Report

At Alma Media, finance is close to the business. Our finance team keeps the engine reliable: clean data, strong controls, smart reporting and continuous improvement. We are now looking for a Senior Accountant to join our R2R team and help us make our accounting processes clearer, faster and more scalable.

The role in a nutshell

You will take ownership of Record to Report accounting for Alma Media’s Finnish parent company and selected legal entities. This is a hands-on role with real end-to-end responsibility: performing the monthly entries safeguarding the balance sheet, supporting audits, keeping master data clean and improving how we work in SAP S/4HANA. The ideal person enjoys digging into details, but also sees the bigger picture: how good accounting, reliable data and smart automation help the whole business move faster.

What you will do

Own periodic accounting entries for Finnish legal entities and process accounting transactions in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
Own balance sheet reconciliations for assigned entities and keep open items clear, accurate and under control.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, capitalization, disposals and monthly depreciation runs.
Create and maintain key finance master data such as GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers, products and WBS structures.
Analyze and improve local and global chart of accounts structures to support transparency, standardization and better reporting.
Contribute to lease accounting transactions and related process improvements.
Prepare statutory and group audit materials and provide timely, complete responses to auditors.
Strengthen internal controls and bring a proactive eye to risk, compliance and data quality.
Spot opportunities to simplify, automate and digitize R2R processes, including better use of SAP, reporting tools and AI-enabled ways of working where relevant.
Support SAP S/4HANA rollouts, enhancements and testing so finance requirements are built in from the start.

What you bring

Several years in finance masterdata in a global ERP system, preferably SAP
At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting, R2R, reporting, master data or a similar finance operations role, advantage having a controlling background
Experience in a multi-entity environment and confidence working with balance sheets, financial statements and reconciliations.
Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and a healthy respect for clean data.
Good communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across finance, business and technology teams.
A curious, improvement-minded attitude: you ask why, challenge manual work and enjoy making processes better.
A degree in accounting, finance or a related field. ACCA, CPA, CA or similar qualification is a plus, but not a must.

Nice to have

Experience with SAP FI, SAP S/4HANA projects or ERP rollouts.
Experience with HFM or group consolidation processes, including eliminations.
Interest in automation, reporting, AI-assisted finance workflows or process mining.
Understanding of Finnish statutory accounting and group reporting requirements.
