The Right Information at the Right Time: What Alma Insights Delivers to Its Customers

Banks, real estate agencies, legal professionals, public authorities, and sales and risk management specialists make decisions every day that depend on having reliable information at precisely the right moment.

Alma Insights is Alma Media’s portfolio of data-driven information services, transforming data from multiple sources into actionable intelligence for decision-making. By combining business, legal, real estate and vehicle data with domain expertise and technology, Alma Insights helps organisations make better-informed decisions faster.

“Reliable and up-to-date information is at the heart of effective decision-making. When information is readily accessible and easy to use, professionals can make better decisions more quickly and business processes run more smoothly,” says Daniela Koli, Director of Alma Insights.

The business is supported by approximately 160 experts, including lawyers, data specialists, software developers and business information analysts. Together, they ensure that information is accurate, current and relevant to customer needs.

Turning data into decision intelligence
The value of Alma Insights lies in refining data into actionable information. Raw data from a wide range of sources is combined, processed and enriched to support customers’ decision-making processes. Data sources include licensed datasets, public registers and open sources, as well as Alma Media’s own marketplaces, expert content and proprietary data assets. Customers’ own data can also be incorporated into solutions with their consent.

Through data processing and analysis, Alma Insights creates classifications, success and risk scores, enriched data products, AI-powered valuation models and market benchmarks. Customers gain access to structured information that supports better decisions while reducing manual work.

Bringing information into the customer workflow
Alma Insights automates complex tasks related to data collection, comparison, classification and assessment. These capabilities support areas such as anti-money laundering compliance, counterparty risk management and collateral management.

For customers, this translates into faster processes, more consistent assessments and higher-quality decision-making. Solutions can be deployed as ready-made services or integrated directly into customers’ systems through APIs.

“Historically, customers came to us to retrieve information. Today, we deliver information directly into their workflows. Through APIs, data and legal content are available exactly when and where they are needed,” Koli explains.

Four service areas, one integrated offering
The Alma Insights portfolio comprises four complementary service areas that together help customers make more informed decisions.

Business Insights: Company and financial information for better business decisions
Business Insights provides company, financial and decision-maker data to support sales, marketing, procurement and risk management. Its services help customers identify potential customers, assess companies’ financial standing, classify businesses and monitor market developments. Compliance solutions such as DOKS combine company, ownership, regulatory and risk information while automating workflow steps related to anti-money laundering and know-your-customer processes. This allows specialists to focus on the most demanding assessments.

Legal Insights: Legal information and expertise
Legal Insights brings together Edilex, Suomen Laki, Alma’s legal publications and a broad range of legal expert content. The service provides lawyers, public authorities and businesses with an up-to-date view of legislation, case law and legal interpretation. While AI helps users find and structure information more efficiently, the assessment of its significance and application remains the responsibility of legal professionals.

Real Estate Insights: Intelligence for real estate and housing markets
Real Estate Insights combines housing and real estate market data, analytics and valuation expertise. Its solutions are used in areas such as banks’ lending and collateral processes, property valuation and collateral management. Automated valuations, market comparisons and continuous monitoring reduce manual work and help keep information up to date. Solutions such as Asuntopuntari provide data-driven support for both market-level analysis and the valuation of individual properties.

Mobility Insights: Intelligence for vehicles and automotive markets
Mobility Insights provides data, analytics and valuation solutions related to vehicles and automotive markets. Its services are widely used by finance companies, automotive retailers and importers to support vehicle valuation, market monitoring and financing and pricing decisions. Solutions such as Mittaristo combine enriched vehicle data with market benchmarking and analysis.

Technology enables, Trust decides
The volume of information continues to grow, while regulation evolves rapidly. At the same time, decision-making increasingly requires information from multiple sources to be combined and interpreted effectively.

In the age of AI, speed alone is not enough. Trust in the accuracy, relevance and timeliness of information remains critical. When technological capabilities are combined with decades of accumulated data assets and expertise, professionals can devote more time to interpreting information, making decisions and serving customers.

“Regulation is constantly evolving and the amount of information continues to increase. We ensure that our customers can trust that the information we provide is validated, up to date and that we have the right to provide it,” Koli says.

At Alma Insights, AI supports the discovery and structuring of information, while responsibility for evaluating and applying that information remains with people. This approach is reflected in solutions such as Edilex AI, which won recognition at the Grand One Awards in 2025, and Asuntopuntari, which was recognised as Finland’s Data Economy Innovation of the Year in the same year.
