Alma Media acquires ESG reporting service

Alma Media Corporation                  Press release          April 1, 2025

ALMA MEDIA BUYS ESG REPORTING SERVICE

Alma Media Finland Oy has acquired ESG reporting service specifically for SMEs from Decade of Action Oy. The business will be transferred to Alma Media Finland Oy on 1 April 2025.

The Decade corporate responsibility system facilitates the understanding, management and development of corporate responsibility as a whole. Creating a report on the implementation of corporate responsibility with the help of the system is the first step in the sustainability reporting and stakeholder communication of an SME.

"Decade complements Alma Insights' risk management tools, such as DOKS, by providing solutions for managing environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks. Our joint development project involves a business arrangement in the form of a business transaction. We are still in the early stages of growing our business with a new innovative solution: we are launching a new set of services on top of the reporting service to support companies in developing sustainability, assessing suppliers' ESG risks and reporting,” says Daniela Koli, President of Alma Insights in the Alma Marketplaces segment and continues:

”The need for sustainability information has grown in the Finnish business field. In addition, companies assess the sustainability risks of their business in terms of reputation management, customer requirements, competitive advantage, financing and strategic commitments, among others.”

“Decade was established so that small and medium-sized enterprises could also easily take over corporate responsibility. The importance of voluntary reporting and the VSME standard we use is growing as large organisations collect data on the responsibility of their partners. We are particularly excited that cooperation with Alma Insights will enable the large-scale scaling of the solution we have developed to serve the sustainable development of more and more companies in the future," comment Anna Helaniemi and Petri Vilén, founders of Decade of Action Oy.
