Alma Media has agreed on strategic cooperation with a new villa rental service

Alma Media Corporation                  Press release                   30 November, 2023

Alma Media has agreed with Hilla Villas on a strategic cooperation based on the service's strong media visibility in Alma Media's service network. Hilla Villas is a new service that focuses on renting villas of premium quality in Lapland, offering high-quality accommodation and diverse experience services from all the main attractions in the area. The service aims to respond to identified challenges, such as high commissions, fragmented offering and separately purchased additional adventure services.

The establishment of the service is driven by the increased tourism and holiday rentals in Lapland, improved flight connections and expectations for continued international growth. Currently, in Lapland's main destinations, there are no other services in the market focused on the highest quality destinations combined with providing experiences.

Cooperation with Alma Media covers a wide range of media coverage in Alma Media's various channels.

Hilla Villas cooperation fits our strategy as a comprehensive provider of holiday housing services in a digital operating environment. We are convinced that this service offers an interesting concept for renting out villas in Lapland and we believe that it can develop into a leading rental platform for holiday homes in the premium category. We also appreciate the strong expertise and experience of the founding partners in building distinctive brands, says Maarit Tarkiainen, Director of Alma Consumer Comparison Services.

Lapland is one of the most magical destinations in the world, and there are unique villas, one finer than the other. Now a rapidly growing number of these have joined the Hilla Villas service and we are able to meet the needs of even the most demanding customers. The service also includes high-quality leisure and adventure services at each destination. With a combination of accommodation and activities, we aim to make the planning of one´s holiday easy and guarantee unforgettable experiences for both domestic and foreign tourists. Alma Media's several strong media and housing service brands, with a weekly reach of millions of Finns, are well suited to reaching tourists, says Jukka Oksaharju, an equity strategist and one of the founders of Hilla Villas.

Alma Media is committed to providing diverse housing services and collaborates with operators in the industry on a long-term basis, utilising the possibilities of digitalisation, data and technology to ensure the best user experience. Alma's housing services include, for example,, the largest housing search service in Finland,, the competitive tendering service for renovations, and Nettimökki, Finland's leading cottage rental service. Alma Media, such as Kauppalehti and Iltalehti, follow home and housing-related topics and developments in the housing market.

The Hilla Villas rental service currently offers villas from Ruka, Levi, Ylläs and Saariselkä, for example.

The founders of the service include equity strategist Jukka Oksaharju, actor Jussi Vatanen and real estate agent Bo LKV.
