Alma Media Corporation        Press release   September 20, 2017

SENIOR EDITOR-IN-CHIEF FOR AAMULEHTI TO CHANGE

Senior Editor-in-Chief of Aamulehti, Jouko Jokinen (58) has been appointed as director of news and current affairs and executive editor-in-chief at Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle, effective by 1st of December 2017. Jokinen has worked for Aamulehti since 2010. He joined Alma Media from Helsingin Sanomat in 2001. During the years of 2001-2010 Jokinen worked as Editor-in-Chief and publisher of Satakunnan Kansa.

“Alma Media has been an outstanding employer. However, working 16 years for one company is a long journey for anyone. Although I will miss Tampere region and Aamulehti, I am happy that both are in strong shape. I am especially delighted about the positive turn of the paid circulation of Aamulehti and the increasing demand for the digital content and services of the regional media,” Jouko Jokinen says.

“The input of Jouko in renewing Alma’s regional media has been significant. On behalf of Alma Media I thank Jouko for his remarkable work and wish him the best of luck for the new challenge,” says Kai Telanne, President and CEO of Alma Media.

The recruitment of the new Senior Editor-in-Chief for Aamulehti will start immediately.
