Alma Media’s Asuntopuntari awarded as Data Economy Innovation of the Year at the AI Gala
Alma Insights Asuntopuntari has been awarded as the Data Economy Innovation of the Year at the AI Gala by AI Finland. The AI Gala brought together Finnish AI experts and honoured the field’s most significant innovations in Turku on November 17.
Asuntopuntari is an advanced AI service developed for the needs of the real estate and finance sectors in close collaboration with customers. It is designed for determining the value of collateral properties as well as properties for sale and rent, and for assessing sustainability.
Asuntopuntari provides users with an overview of a property’s overall sustainability, its current and future market value, and any potential sustainability risks.

“This innovation offers consumers, authorities and decision-makers reliable data to support more sustainable and informed decision-making. It is a pioneering data economy initiative that brings unprecedented transparency to the Finnish housing market”, the jury commented.
The jury emphasised the project’s significant societal impact and its example of how data economy principles can be transformed into tangible everyday benefits.
The service combines public and private data sources to analyse price trends, regional patterns and market dynamics in real time.
Behind Asuntopuntari’s more than 200 machine learning models are Alma Media’s marketplaces Etuovi.com and Vuokraovi.com, with the models trained on data from 2.3 million listings. In forming future forecasts, Asuntopuntari also leverages various macroeconomic projections and indices in its AI training.
Asuntopuntari assesses property value with coordinate-level accuracy, covers the whole of Finland, and is capable of evaluating addresses where properties do not yet exist.

Alma Media’s AI Program accelerates the adoption of artificial intelligence
At Alma Media, the adoption and experimentation with AI has been accelerated by a company-wide AI Program involving all staff and functions. Currently, there are about a hundred different AI projects across the organisation.
