Business vertical lead appointments at Alma Consumer

Alma Consumer’s, Alma Media’s segment focusing on consumer media and marketplace services, business vertical leads have been appointed.

In February 2021, Alma Media announced that the company is renewing its segment structure by transferring the Alma Mediapartners’ services, i.e. housing and automotive marketplace services, to the Alma Consumer business segment. Furthermore, as a result of an acquisition, Nettix Oy, which includes Finland’s leading motor vehicle marketplaces, such as Nettiauto, Nettikone and Nettimoto, became part of Alma Consumer’s businesses at the beginning of April 2021. Nettix also consists of Konepörssi, the leading professional media for the machine and transport business, and the news service Ampparit.  

The Business vertical leads of the Alma Consumer segment have now been appointed and the new Management Team will begin its work on 1 May 2021. The Alma Consumer segment will be led by Kari Kivelä, who is also in charge of the Media and ad-funded services vertical. Jaakko Haapakangas is in charge of the Vehicles and machines vertical, and Heikki Huttunen of the Housing vertical and Comparison and sharing economy services, respectively.

The new Alma Consumer consists of 35 consumer and B2B brands. The segment includes, for example, the multi-channel news and lifestyle media Iltalehti, Finland’s leading housing marketplace and housing rental marketplace, the automotive marketplace as well as the leading motor vehicle services of Nettix Oy. The segment also includes the comparison services,, and  Alma Consumer’s competitiveness is based on the superior reach of media and services as a digital network, the unique user data pool, housing and automotive systems and the developing industry verticals in the areas of media, housing, cars and comparison services.
