ALMA CAREER INVESTS IN THE STAFFING SERVICES COMPANY TREAMER
The digital staffing services company Treamer and Alma Career specialized in recruitment business have signed an investment agreement according to which Alma Career invests at most EUR 1.5 million in Treamer. Alma Career has made an initial investment of EUR 0.5 million in Treamer and consequently it owns less than 10 per cent in the company. The agreement also includes subsequent investments in two stages totalling EUR 1.0 million, conditional on the achievement of business targets.
Treamer digitalises staffing services by providing a platform that connects manual labourers and the companies that seek their services. The platform makes it faster and easier to find open shifts as well as available workers. In addition to gig work, Treamer also enables longer-term employment. Established in 2015, Treamer now has more than 40,000 registered users and the company’s total revenue in 2019 amounted to EUR 1.7 million.
Employee outsourcing and digitalisation are transforming the staffing industry permanently. The workforce is moving online and the online recruitment market is estimated to grow by as much as 40–60 per cent annually (Source: Staffing Industry Analysts).
Outsourcing gig work provides companies with flexibility, cost savings and more efficiency in human resources management. At the same time, it provides workers with freedom in the job market as well as a quick and transparent alternative for earning income in a manner that suits their personal schedule.
“Alma Career is the market leader in recruitment services in several countries in Eastern Europe. This investment in Treamer is a natural step in the development of our digital services. It also provides Alma Career with a good position for monitoring the rapid digital transformation of the staffing services market,” says Senior Vice President Vesa-Pekka Kirsi, Head of Alma Markets.
“Meetings between people have moved online and recruitment processes are no exception. Soon, most workers can only be reached through online channels. We help companies and workers take advantage of the benefits of this trend, including speed, flexibility and openness. The COVID-19 crisis has changed the job market and the participants need new tools for success. Treamer’s platform gives everyone an equal opportunity to prosper,” says Treamer CEO Peter Sazonov.
In 2019, Treamer’s largest customers were the City of Helsinki, Palmia, Lassila & Tikanoja and Heinon Tukku. The company’s revenue model is based on service fees collected from customers in the form of percentage-based commissions.
Alma Career is part of Alma Media Group and it operates in 11 European countries.
