Alma Media’s online service has launched Finland’s first consumer service to provide a comprehensive overview of the various ways of gaining access to a car without ownership and the costs involved. Private leasing, car sharing and other alternatives to car ownership are an emerging automotive megatrend. The aim of the new service is to make it convenient for consumers to find the right solution for gaining access to a car: it brings together the offerings of various service providers on a single platform.

  We want to lead the way in this new wave of driving-related services and increase public awareness of the many possibilities that are out there. With people placing more and more value on convenient and carefree solutions, the alternatives to owning a car are emerging in the mainstream. One key feature of the service is the ability to submit a single request for quotation to carry out competitive bidding between private leasing operators that suit the user’s needs.

 This service has been well received by our customers and the number of requests for quotations has exceeded our expectations, Alppi adds.

The service also includes calculators for consumers to compare the costs of car ownership with alternative arrangements. The tools allow users to estimate the overall costs of car usage, including calculations of vehicle depreciation over time and estimates of other costs, such as taxes, insurance, maintenance and the prices of tyres and car wash services.
