Jussi Tuulensuu appointed Editor-in-Chief of Aamulehti newspaper

Alma Media is delighted to announce the appointment of Jussi Tuulensuu, 38, as Editor-in-Chief of its Aamulehti title, effective 1 September 2015.

Tuulensuu moves to Aamulehti from his current role at Sanoma Media Finland’s magazine unit, Sanoma Lifestyle. During his time at Sanoma Lifestyle, Tuulensuu has updated and developed magazine concepts and directed design for a group of titles. He is currently responsible for managing the roll-outs of Sanoma’s new editorial system in the magazines.

Tuulensuu has previously worked as sub-editor and designer at Kauppalehti Optio, art director at Journalisti trade journal, visual journalist at Aamulehti as well as Editor-in-Chief of Aviisi, the newspaper of Tampere University’s Student Union. Alongside these roles, Tuulensuu has provided consulting services to several publishing titles and coached a number of newsrooms.

Jouko Jokinen will continue in his role as Aamulehti Senior Editor-in-Chief. The paper’s current Editor-in-Chief Jorma Pokkinen, 63, is due to retire in early 2016.
