IL-Media’s new xoxofeed.com aims at attracting audiences abroad with its love theme

Alma Media Corporation                       Press release             20 April 2015 at 10:30 a.m. (EEST)

IL-MEDIA’S NEW XOXOFEED.COM AIMS AT ATTRACTING AUDIENCES ABROAD WITH ITS LOVE THEME

IL-Media has now launched the xoxofeed.com service that is targeted at international audiences. It combines the easy online sharing format familiar from the popular fiidi.fi service with a love theme. The English-language service is produced in Finland and funded with advertisements.

Xoxofeed.com innovates, produces and shares mainly content about love with active social media users with an interest in the theme as its audience. Like fiidi.fi, xoxofeed.com’s content team produces own content and also brings content published elsewhere to the service.

“Fiidi.fi started out as a try-out project with limited resources at the end of 2013. Its weekly audience of half a million people is very large in Finland but language is a limit to the growth of its popularity. Now we’re trying out social publishing also within the reach of international audiences. In a way, the key expertise of a traditional afternoon papers is viral: we recognise topics, we popularise, we evoke emotions. The emerging market of social publishing is a turning point in the development of afternoon media,” says IL-Media’s Publisher Kari Kivelä.
