JAAKKO LINTUNEN APPOINTED COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR OF ALMA MEDIA’S REGIONAL NEWSPAPERS
Mr Jaakko Lintunen (MSc) has been appointed Commercial Director of Alma Media’s new business unit that combines Alma Media Group’s regional and local newspapers. Jaakko Lintunen, 40, acts currently as the Director of Media Marketing of Alma Media’s Aamulehti newspaper. In his new position, he will continue as the Head of Aamulehti’s advertising sales.
The responsibilities of Lintunen include advertising and content sales of the new business unit as well as other commercial operations, such as marketing communications and customer service. Lintunen will join the management team of the new unit and will report to Mr Kari Juutilainen, the Head of the business unit.
Prior to joining Aamulehti, Mr Lintunen has worked as Project Director, Media Planner, Product Development Director and Managing Director in advertising and media agencies. Along with his principal positions in Alma Media, Lintunen has also acted as the Head of the group’s Media Sales Chain since 2010.
The new business unit of Alma Media, combining the Group’s regional and local newspapers, will be established in the beginning of 2012. The unit will merge the present business operations of Aamulehti, Satakunnan Kirjateollisuus, Suomen Paikallissanomat and Pohjois-Suomen Media. The new unit will publish five regional newspapers and nearly 30 local and city papers across Finland.
