ALMA MEDIA EXPANDS TO CONSUMER DIRECTORY SERVICES
Alma Media Corporation will acquire the entire stock of Intermedia Partners Oy operating in Pori, Finland. Through the acquisition, Alma Media will expand its business to company directory services aimed at consumers. The online company directory service Suomenyritykset.fi, developed and operated by Intermedia Partners, will increase the online service portfolio of Alma Media’s regional and local newspapers and support their growth into even more communal consumer services that offer a variety of content packages. Information on companies serving the local community is an essential part of such packages.
– The Finnish online directory market is extremely competitive. We believe we can successfully challenge the other players in the market by integrating Suomenyritykset.fi into the online services of our trusted and well-known regional and local papers. We can get support for marketing the service from the strong media products of the Alma Media Group, says Petri Hakala, Publisher of Satakunnan Kansa.
The online company search service Suomenyritykset.fi includes information on more than 300,000 Finnish companies in approximately 800 industries. Suomenyritykset.fi is available to everyone requiring company information, free of charge and without registration. Intermedia Partners employs 20 people at the moment. The acquisition is not expected to have any effect on personnel. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction price.
