Redesigned Kauppalehti looks forward as of January 12

Kauppalehti, the leading business newspaper in Finland, will get a redesigned content, look and structure. The redesigned Kauppalehti, with a stronger focus on the future, will be launched on Monday, January 12. Kauppalehti is part of Alma Media Group.
The renewal takes place at a time when the demand for business news – delivered in various channels – has grown significantly. Changes in the world economy, and the impacts they may have, interest more and more people.
– The newspaper will explain better and more in-depth why something has happened and what are the impacts of this event to the economy. Our readers want to know what the future may hold, and this indeed is the question the new Kauppalehti strives to answer, says Hannu Leinonen, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Kauppalehti.
As the printed newspaper focuses on the future, its online service clings to the current news topics, even more precisely than earlier.
– The development of digital news channels, particularly the internet, in the fast news delivery provides the printed media an entirely new role. The printed newspaper has now a great opportunity to evolve into more analytic and forward-looking direction, whereas the digital channel transmits the news immediately, online.
The concept of the new Kauppalehti includes different roles for the days of the week. On Monday, Kauppalehti provides its readers with the information to be utilized during the week plus an in-depth approach on the upcoming events. In addition, the industry-specific themes and “Extra” supplements appear on Mondays. My Company pages, dedicated for entrepreneurs, appear on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Fridays, Kauppalehti focuses on investments and savings. The famous Third page, with its entertaining spirit, will relocate from the last spread and will be found right after the News section.
The entire product family in new shape
With the redesigned daily newspaper, the entire Kauppalehti product family has gone through an extensive renewal process. Kauppalehti Optio was redesigned in the autumn of 2007, and the online service in the beginning of 2008. The active development work has brought expected results.
The popularity of has grown strongly and the service has approximately half a million unique visitors a week. Additionally, the circulation and the number of readers of Kauppalehti  have developed favorably.
In accordance with the National Readership Survey published last autumn, the number of readers for Kauppalehti and Kauppalehti Optio rose approximately by 6%. The strengthened circulation mirrors the growth, as the circulation is currently record-high 86,577.
– The printed Kauppalehti and have a very limited number of overlapping readers. The growing numbers imply that the Kauppalehti product family reaches now wider-than-ever audience in the decision maker segment.
