Iltalehti launches a new TV magazine

Alma Media Corporation   Press release  18 February 2008
Iltalehti launches a new TV magazine
The publisher Kustannusosakeyhtiö Iltalehti, part of Alma Media Group, will introduce a new type of TV magazine. The new publication, TV-Jätti, is an 80-page information package on 60 TV channels, laid out in an easily readable format and appearing each Monday. The first issue of TV-Jätti comes out on 3 March 2008.
“The shift towards digital media has brought a larger audience to the premium channel packages, and we want to serve them better with an extensive offering of stories and clearly presented programme information. The magazine focuses on the ordinary Finnish TV viewer”, says Meri Martikainen, head of TV-Jätti’s editorial office.
TV-Jätti will be available as single copies nationwide through all major newsstand chains. The magazine will be low-priced when purchased together with the Iltalehti newspaper. Iltalehti will still retain its daily TV channel information in their familiar format.
TV-Jätti will be Iltalehti’s second weekly magazine. The well-received women’s magazine Ilona was launched about two years ago.
