NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO FINNISH SECURITIES MARKETS ACT
CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10
Suomi Mutual Life Insurance Company has acquired the entire share
capital of Pohjola Life Insurance Company from Pohjola-Yhtymä
Vakuutus Oyj. Consequently, Suomi’s holding of Alma Media
Corporation’s voting rights has risen to more than one-twentieth.

According to information that Alma Media has received today,
Pohjola-Yhtymä Vakuutus Oyj (hereafter Pohjola), in an agreement
dated 15 August 2000, granted Suomi Mutual Life Insurance Company
(hereafter Suomi) the right to acquire the entire share capital of
Pohjola Life Insurance Company (hereafter Pohjola Life) from
Pohjola. On 28 February 2001 Suomi announced its intention to
exercise this option. This means that pursuant to Chapter 2,
Section 9 of the Securities Markets Act, Pohjola Life’s holdings
must on the one hand be substracted from the Pohjola group’s other
holdings and on the other hand added to Suomi’s other holdings.
Consequently, Suomi’s aggregate holding of Alma Media
Corporation’s voting rights has risen to over 5 percent.

share capital comprises 6 771 586 Series 1 shares of nominal value
