NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF SECURITIES
MARKETS ACT
The following changes, as referred to in Chapter 2, Section 10 of
the Finnish Securities Markets Act, took place to the ownership of
Alma Media Corporation on 20 August 1999. Otava-Yhtyneet Group’s
holding of Alma Media Corporation’s share capital fell to below 10
% and the holdings of Sampo-Varma Life Insurance Limited and Sampo
Group increased to above 5 %.

We have received information to the effect that the aggregate
holding of Kustannusosakeyhtiö Otava and its wholly owned
subsidiary United Magazines Ltd in Alma Media Corporation has
fallen to 11.93 of the voting rights and 5.82 % of the share
capital.

On 20 August 1999 Otava-Yhtyneet Group’s holding in Alma Media
Corporation was divided as follows:

We have also learnt that Otvan Kirjasäätiö holds 1,4 % of the
shares and 1.4 % of voting rights of Alma Media Corporation.

Varma-Sampo Life Insurance Company Limited has informed Alma Media
Corporation that its holding of Alma Media Corporation increased
on 20 August 1999 to 6.01 % of the shares and 3.92 % of the votes.

On 20 August 1999 Varma-Sampo Life Insurance Company Limited,
Trade Register No. 321.855, owned Alma Media Corporation stock as
follows:

Sampo Group, through its parent company Sampo Insurance Company
plc, has announced that on 20 August 1999 its holding in Alma
Media Corporation rose to 6.76 % of the shares and 4.89 % of the
voting rights.

Sampo Group has informed Alma Media Corporation that on 20 August
1999 it owned Alma Media Corporation stock as follows:

Alma Media Corporation’s share capital comprises 15 730 060 shares
in two series: 6 771 586 shares in Series I and 8 958 474 shares
in Series II. The nominal value of the shares is FIM 10 in both
series. Series I shares carry one vote per share and Series II
shares one vote per ten shares at general meetings.
