Delivery of materials

The materials must be submitted in accordance with the material instructions and schedule before the start of the campaign to: mediamainonta@almamedia.fi

Schedule:

  • Please submit Content Display and native article material no later than 5 business days before the agreed release date.
    • This is especially important for materials that will be edited
  • The publication of content delivered late at the agreed time cannot be guaranteed
    • In this case, the content is either published late, which means that part of the withdrawal time is missed, or the publication is moved to the next possible publication time (not necessarily the next day)
  • When submitting materials, please include the ad format, advertiser name, and publication date in the subject line of the email.
  • You are encouraged to send all the materials in the same e-mail

 

Material required for a nationwide article (mandatory):

Name of the advertised brand:

  • Advertiser / brand displayed in story highlight and banner (max 26 characters)

Images:*

  • At least 1 main image, horizontal aspect ratio recommended, jpg or png
  • If the main image has a vertical aspect ratio (not recommended), please provide a horizontal image for the front page highlight.
  • For a Front Page Highlight a good image size would be 612×300 px – images work best when designed to this resolution. 

* Good quality: width >1024 px, resolution 72.​
  Premium quality: width 2048px, resolution 72.​

Title:

  • Try to keep it short and concise

Lead:

  • Try to keep it short and concise (1-2 sentences)

Body text:

  • There is no exact limit to length. The most important thing is that the content stays interesting and moves forward. Our suggestion is 2,000-4,000 characters.

Material required for regional article and Content Display (required):

Name of the advertised brand:

  • Advertiser / brand displayed in story highlight and banner (max 26 characters)

Images:*

  • At least 1 main image, horizontal aspect ratio recommended, jpg or png
  • Image size 600×314 required for content display – horizontal image can be cropped to the correct size if needed

* Good quality: width >1024 px, resolution 72.​
  Premium quality: width 2048px, resolution 72.​

Title:

  • Try to keep it short and concise
  • Content display title max 120 characters, typically the same title is used as in the article

Lead paragraph:

  • Try to keep it short and concise (1-2 sentences)

Video:

  • Video file (e.g. MP4, 16: 9 aspect ratio)
    • Iltalehti has separate analytics for the video
  • Embedding: a link to a YouTube, Vimeo, or Vine video is required
    • Impressions accumulate directly on the original video
    • Iltalehti does not report separate analytics on the video

Click tracking:

  • Deliver click tracking information with the text

SEO title = title that appears on search engines:
(Can be delivered in addition to the regular title)

  • The title must be short. Recommended length max 68 characters
  • The most important keyword (what people search for is expected to end up in the story) at the top of the title
  • The keyword is written in the basic format
  • The key word in the story is what is the focus of the whole article. It’s usually one word – in some cases a phrase with 2-5 words.
  • The ideal Google title is a template: Keyword – Reason to click
  • Example:
    • Not like this: “The online address for the abolition of propulsion tax instantly collected more than 50,000 signatures”
    • But like this: “Propulsion tax – 50,000 people are already demanding its removal”

Responsibility for the content and delivery of advertisements: The customer is responsible for ensuring that the material delivered to Alma Media is not contrary to valid laws, regulations of authorities and advertising self-regulatory bodies, instructions given by Alma Creative Solutions, these conditions, other contractual conditions or good practice. The customer undertakes to take into account the restrictions concerning e.g. advertising to minors or the following advertising targets: alcohol, tobacco, gambling, medicines, counterfeit products and pirated products. Alma Creative Solutions has the right, without liability for compensation, to refuse to present an ad if, according to Alma Media’s interpretation, the ad is in violation of the aforementioned requirements. If the materials are not delivered within the agreed schedule, the start of the campaign at the agreed time cannot be promised.
