Alma Media Corporation  Stock Exchange Release  November 1, 2011 at 15.30 (EET)

In keeping with its strategy, Alma Media will increase the share of digital services in its revenue over the coming years. The company will increase its investments in the development of the digital services while at the same time improves operational efficiencies and quality in its publishing business. To accelerate this renewal, Alma Media has started the planning of a new operational model. This planning will aim at significant changes in both the organisation of the Group and its management system, intended to be effective from the beginning of 2012.

Of the planned changes, the most relevant ones are:

-Establishing a new development and service unit that focuses on digital business. This aims at increasing resources on a strategically important growth area.

-Combining the Group’s regional and local newspapers under one business unit. This change would combine the businesses of the present Aamulehti, Satakunnan Kirjateollisuus, Suomen Paikallissanomat and Pohjois-Suomen Media.

Simultaneously Alma Media has also initiated a planning process to simplify the Group’s legal structure.

Possible effects on personnel will become clear as the planning work progresses, and if there are any, they will be discussed according to the Act on Cooperation within Undertakings.
