Aamulehti buys 40% of Tampereen Ykkösjakelut from Janton

ALMA MEDIA OYJ                        PRESS RELEASE May 22, 2007
Kustannus Oy Aamulehti has purchased 40% of the stock of Tampereen Ykkösjakelut Oy. The seller is Janton Oy, which earlier owned the entire stock of the direct marketing distribution company. The agreement was signed in Helsinki on May 22.
“With the acquisition, we are looking for growth and a better capability to serve our clients in direct marketing. We also see opportunities for developing the collaboration between our printing works and the direct mail distribution network. Our own distribution company Aamujakelu Oy will continue delivering newspapers early in the morning, and the new arrangement does not affect it in any way,” says Juha Ruotsalainen, Managing Director, Aamulehti.
István Dénes, Managing Director of Janton, says that the new arrangement will create a joint venture for non-addressed direct mail delivery, which in the long term will create new benefits for both parties as well as the clients of Tampereen Ykkösjakelut Oy.
“Aamulehti is the leading medium in the Pirkanmaa province looking to significantly develop the distribution services in its area. It is very valuable for Janton that we have found a strong partner in this important market area,” Mr Dénes explains.
Tampereen Ykkösjakelut Oy delivers about 100 million direct mail shots and newspapers in Pirkanmaa every year. The company has 450 people working in the delivery operation and six in the office.
