Summer job at Alma can be the start of a longer journey

In the beginning of summer, there has been a cheerful buzz in Alma Media head office, Alma House, as our summer employees have started their journey as part of Alma’s work community.

These summer employees work primarily in our media, but their impact extends further: they bring fresh perspectives, energy, and enthusiasm to the entire work community.

Real work and memorable moments at the heart of journalism

A summer job at Alma Media is a great opportunity to step into the world of journalism, learn from industry’s top professionals, and build networks and career paths.

“For my first summer at Alma’s business media, I expect interesting discussions, news twists, and a deeper dive into economic topics and the development of my follow-up topics”, says Kauppalehti’s summer journalist Eino Haajanen, who studies law.

Among the summer employees, there are also dozens of familiar faces, as many want to return to Alma.

“It’s nice to come back to Iltalehti! I previously did an internship at Iltalehti, and that time passed quickly, and I had lots of fun. I particularly remember the presidential elections and the 2024 UMK final from that time,” says Iltalehti’s summer journalist Veera Kasila.

Some of our summer employees stay at Alma even after the summer, either part-time alongside their studies or permanently.

Alma is a versatile employer for many kinds of professionals

Alma can surprise with its versatility. Although many summer employees work in the media brands, they become part of an international company at the forefront of digital services.

This year, Alma is strongly investing in the adoption of artificial intelligence and training its staff. In the editorial work, employees are encouraged to utilize a wide range of Alma’s own AI tools tailored specifically for journalists.

In total, Alma Media offers summer jobs to over 70 young people. For many of them, a summer job can be the start of a longer journey at Alma.
