New company sertificate in the Finnish market: Kauppalehti starts granting Achiever certificates to successful companies

New company certificate in the Finnish market

The certificates are based on Kauppalehti's annual Achievers (Menestyjä) series comparing the financial success of Finnish companies. Obtaining the Achiever certificate requires that the company's financial performance is among the best in its industry and in Finland. Some 1.9 per cent of Finnish companies are eligible for the Achiever certification.

The Achievers are classified by Balance Consulting, the analysis unit of Kauppalehti, which is part of the Alma Media Group.  The analysis looks at six aspects of the candidate companies' financial performance: growth, profitability, financial result, liquidity, solidity and debt serviceability. The comparison includes all Finnish companies with an annual turnover of more than €1.7 million.

A company is classified as an achiever if the comparison of key indicators puts it in the top tier of both its own industry and the entire country. There are approximately 6,000 such companies in Finland, meaning that only 1.9 per cent of all companies fall within Kauppalehti's Achiever criteria.

-According to our research, the bankruptcy risk of the achievers is extremely low. In the last few years, only six companies classified as achievers, or one in a thousand, have gone bankrupt within one to two years of its classification, says Ari Rajala, chief analyst at Kauppalehti.

The Achiever certificate is proof of a company being on a solid financial foundation. Companies like this are reliable and desirable partners as well as good employers. The Achiever certificate also shows that the management and organisation of the holder company are working efficiently and the company has the required business acumen.

The Achiever emblem identifies a reliable partner

A company certified as an Achiever may apply for Kauppalehti's Achiever emblem, which it can use on its web pages and printed materials. The package, available for a fee, is accompanied by a certification letter, a comprehensive analysis report on the company's development and a report of the development of the company's industry for the past 10 years. The Achiever emblem is also shown in the online service next to the company information.
