Getting energy-hungry properties under control
Alma Media signed an energy efficiency agreement concerning its properties in 2017.
Alma Media’s target is to reduce the energy consumption of its Finnish properties by 7.5 per cent by 2025, using 2017 as the baseline.
This effort began with a project aimed at improving the energy efficiency of Alma Media’s old printing facility in Tampere, where the company is now renting out premises for use by other businesses.
“When the renovation project has been completed, the energy efficiency of the property will be improved to such a dramatic extent that it will reduce the total electricity consumption of Alma Media’s Finnish properties by approximately four per cent and district heating consumption by almost 17 per cent,” explains Jarno Lintunen, Facility Manager at Alma Media.
Alma Media’s energy efficiency agreement is part of the Finnish National Energy Efficiency Action Plan.
