Police starts a preliminary investigation on the recruitment process of Aamulehti Editor-in-Chief

Alma Media has received information from The Central Finland Police Department that a preliminary investigation concerning the recruitment process of Editor-in-Chief of Aamulehti has been initiated. The police is investigating possible employment discrimination. The selection process took place in Tampere at the end of 2017. According to the police, the investigation will continue with the hearing of persons concerned and other parties.

The preliminary investigation is related to an article published in the Suomen Kuvalehti magazine about the Aamulehti's Editor-in-Chief's recruitment process. According to Alma Media the article contains incorrect understanding of the events related to the selection process. Alma Media emphasizes that the company adheres to the principles of equality and diversity in its recruitment policy.

- One of the important criteria in the recruitment process was the ability to move and be based in the publication area of ​​the newsmedia.
