ALMA MEDIA STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 19 DEC 2000, 2.00 PM (EET) REAPPLICATION OF RADIO NOVA’S OPERATING LICENCE The Ministry of Transport and Communications has required the reapplication of Oy Suomen Uutisradio Ab’s Radio Nova operating licence following a change in the company’s ownership structure. Radio Nova will continue to operate as before for the time being. Suomen Uutisradio will reapply for a new operating licence with the aim of assuring uninterrupted broadcasting. The application period ends on 4 January 2001. Last week Alma Media announced an agreement on the acquisition of a subsidiary of Maakuntien Viestintä Oy. This subsidiary owns 13 % of the shares and voting rights in Oy Suomen Uutisradio Ab. Following the acquisition Alma Media Group will own 61 % of Suomen Uutisradio. Under the terms of Radio Nova’s operating licence, the Ministry is entitled at its discretion to ask the government to reconsider the operating licence of a national analogue radio broadcasting operation before this licence expires if the control exercised by the operating licence holder changes. According to the Ministry the intention is to reach a decision on the new operating licence before the current licence expires.
