Finnish Competition Authority has accepted Alma Media Corporation’s and Arena Partners’ cooperation

FINNISH COMPETITION AUTHORITY HAS ACCEPTED ALMA MEDIA CORPORATION’S AND ARENA PARTNERS’ COOPERATION

Alma Media Corporation has been informed today that the Finnish Competition Authority has approved the deal between Alma Media and Arena Partners with a ruling dated 14th July 2010. The decision contains no conditions.

Alma Media announced on 29 March, 2010 that Alma Media Corporation and the business development company Arena Partners Oy, owned jointly by five newspaper publishers operating in Central Finland, will start cooperation in the national classified advertising business. The deal was noted to be subject to approval by the Finnish Competition Authority. The Finnish Competition Authority referred the arrangement to continued consideration on May 3.

The parties will seek to finalize the arrangement during August.
