Alma Media simplifies the company structure of its Northern Newspapers

ALMA MEDIA CORP.             PRESS RELEASE            May 8th, 2008

ALMA MEDIA SIMPLIFIES THE COMPANY STRUCTURE OF ITS NORTHERN NEWSPAPERS

The publishing companies of Alma Media’s three regional newspapers in northern Finland, Kainuun Sanomat, Pohjolan Sanomat and Lapin Kansa, will be merged. The merger will not affect the independent publishing of these newspapers.

The merger aims at streamlining the organisational structure of the Northern Newspapers business unit of Alma Media, and allows for more flexible development of the cooperation between the newspapers. The merger is planned to take place in late 2008.

The change is estimated not to have any effects to the personnel, but would bring savings from the development of financial and other internal administrative processes.
