ALMA MEDIA'S MASCUS ACQUIRES A MAJORITY SHAREHOLDING IN ITS LICENCE PARTNER IN THE UNITED STATES
Alma Media acquires a 51% shareholding in Adalia Media, based in United States. The company has acted as license partner of Mascus, Alma Media's international marketplace for heavy machinery and transportation vehicles, since 2009. The deal strengthens the position of Mascus USA in the largest market for heavy machinery in the world.
The deal is also in keeping with Alma Media's strategy to increase the share of revenue generated by digital services.
-Thanks to this transaction, we can further accelerate the expansion of Mascus' business in the United States. Since the operations of our local competitors rely primarily on printed publications, we can challenge them with our focus on efficient digital marketplace offering," says Mr Fredrik Larsson, Director of Mascus.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction. The revenue of Adalia Media was approximately 400,000 euros in 2011 and the company will be reported as part of Alma Media's Digital Consumer Services segment as of June 1, 2012.
Mascus is a worldwide marketplace for heavy machinery and transportation vehicles, which operates in the business areas of Construction, Agriculture, Transportation, Material Handling, Groundscare and Forestry. Mascus has local operations in 42 countries and the platform is available on 54 domains in 39 languages.
