ALMA MEDIA ACQUIRES CISION’S LITHUANIAN SUBSIDIARY
 
Baltic News Service, the leading Baltic news agency and media information company belonging to Alma Media’s Kauppalehti Group has acquired all shares of Cision AB’s Lithuanian subsidiary.
 
Cision Lithuania focuses on the media monitoring and analyzing services. The company’s net sales was about EUR 1 million in 2008 and it employs 43 people.
 
– Cision Lithuania complements our current media monitoring service offering in the Baltic countries and strengthens our business in the Lithuanian market. The deal is also well in line with Kauppalehti Group’s strategy to offer its corporate customers a versatile and dynamic range of business information services that add value, says Juha-Petri Loimovuori, Senior Vice President of the Kauppalehti Group.
 
The acquisition, effective today on 1 October 2009, has no significant impact on the operating profit of the Kauppalehti Group or Alma Media Corporation in 2009.
