Mascus acquires a Swedish forklift truck marketplace and strengthens its position in Northern Europe

Mascus, the electronic marketplace for used equipment (www.mascus.com), has acquired the business of its Swedish competitor BytTruck. BytTruck marketplace (www.byttruck.com) is a specialist in forklift trucks. The acquisition increases the number of machines for sale on Mascus from some 14,000 to over 16,000 offering the buyer the widest selection of used equipment in Northern Europe.

BytTruck is the leading marketplace for used forklift trucks in Sweden. It was launched in 1999. The marketplace displays over 2,400 used forklift trucks from some 50 Swedish importers and dealers. About 40 % of the forklift trucks have a lifting capacity beyond 2 tons.

The acquisition of BytTruck complements the current supply on Mascus-marketplace and makes the market for used equipment more efficient. According to surveys, used equipment buyers visit a maximum of three internet services to find a piece of used equipment. Now buyers can find a broad selection of equipment in just one address. Mascus marketplace hosts over 5,000 agricultural machines, almost 4,000 construction machines and as many pieces transportation equipment, almost 3,000 pieces of material handling equipment and hundreds of used forest machines and groundscare equipment.

BytTruck-marketplace will continue to operate until the end of November. Customers will have an opportunity to start displaying their equipment on Mascus already now and take into use the Mascus used equipment service on their own homepage. The seller Christer Svensson is at service to provide customers as smooth transition to Mascus as possible.

Mascus is the leading marketplace for used equipment in Northern Europe. The value of the stock listed on Mascus amounts to 400 million euros. Almost 600 dealers and manufacturers are customers to Mascus. The number of monthly visits exceeds 150,000.
