ALMA MEDIA’S PRESIDENT AND CEO CHARGED WITH DISCRIMINATION AT WORK IN THE CASE OF JOHANNA KORHONEN

The district prosecutor of Helsinki has decided to bring a charge with discrimination at work as defined in Penal Code against Mr Kai Telanne, President and CEO of Alma Media, demanding a fine. The consideration of charges started as the Labour Protection District of Uusimaa region and the police suspected Kai Telanne of discrimination at work when the director contract of Ms Johanna Korhonen was terminated in the autumn of 2008. Kai Telanne contests the charge.

Based on the detailed clarification received from Kai Telanne and other persons involved in the process, the Board of Directors of Alma Media Corporation regards that no discrimination took place and that Kai Telanne is capable of continuing in his position as the President and CEO. The Board of Directors will monitor the process and revisits the issue if necessary when the outcome of the proceedings has been determined.
