Head of Finance Operations 

Location: Flexible, Alma Media Offices in Finland or Across Europe 
Reports to: Executive Vice President, finance / CFO

Alma Media is seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Operations Lead to build and lead a high-performing finance operations function in an international setting. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Alma Media’s finance processes operate globally, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strong collaboration across business units. 

About the Role 

As Finance Operations Lead, you will take ownership of Alma Media’s global finance processes, including Source to Pay (S2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Payroll, and Record to Report (R2R). Your mission is to drive operational excellence, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and lead the transition towards more data-driven and automated financial operations.  

Key responsibilities 

  • Lead the transformation of global finance operations, ensuring alignment across all business units and regions. 
  • Establish and manage standardized financial processes that support Alma Media’s strategic goals. 
  • Oversee financial process governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and international regulatory requirements. 
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance operations team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture. 
  • Partner with key stakeholders, including Business Finance, Treasury, Development team and Data Office, to align financial processes with business needs. 
  • Support the successful implementation of SAP Public Cloud, ensuring finance operations are ready to leverage the new system’s capabilities. 

What we are looking for 

  • Extensive experience in finance operations leadership within an international business environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes and ERP systems (SAP experience preferred). 
  • Proven ability to standardize and optimize financial processes while ensuring compliance. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with a collaborative and hands-on approach. 
  • A forward-thinking mindset, with a focus on automation, data-driven insights, and future finance capabilities. 
  • Fluency in English</strong>; other languages spoken within Alma Media’s markets are a plus.
