ALMA MEDIA INVESTS STRONGLY IN DATA-DRIVEN SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE

Alma Media, a media company focusing on digital services and publishing, will deploy Salesforce DMP (Data Management Platform). The deployment will strengthen the development of the data-driven customer experience of Alma’s content and services as well as marketing automation and the targeting of digital advertising.

Salesforce DMP will allow Alma to take advantage of its full data potential: the platform enables the use of internal and external data sources to support the personalisation of content and services as well as serve advertisers’ targeting needs. Salesforce’s significant investments in machine learning enable the development of a more relevant and customised user experience for the appropriate audience groups, with optimal results.

“Our cooperation with Salesforce supports the implementation of Alma’s strategy to benefit consumers and advertisers. Data is being increasingly leveraged in the digital advertising market, particularly in programmatic buying as well as the buying and selling of data. From the advertiser’s perspective, the quality of data becomes an essential priority. As a premium publisher, Alma’s data is first-party data. We know where the data comes from and how it is processed. The privacy and data protection issues related to the use of data are a key focus area in our operations,” says Alma Media CDO Santtu Elsinen.

The new DMP will be implemented in 2018 throughout the digital network formed by Alma’s news media, lifestyle media and marketplaces. The Alma network is one of Finland’s largest media networks. Through its various media, Alma Media reaches 77% of Finns aged 15 to 74 years (Source: TNS Atlas 1–6/2017).
