Alma Media has the best investor website in Finnish Mid Cap category

Alma Media took first place in the mid cap category in the Best Investor Site competition organised by The Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion and The Finnish Society of Financial Analysts. The award was given at the first ever Stock Exchange Gala, which was celebrated in Helsinki on 17 May. The gala culminated in an awards ceremony.

The winners were selected in four series. In addition to Alma, Huhtamäki (in the large cap), Raute (small cap) and Lemonsoft (First North marketplace) were awarded.

“We are delighted and very much appreciate this recognition. The investor site is one of our most important communication channels for us. The purpose is to offer the key information needed by the investor in a versatile and easy-to-use manner. We try to keep the structure of the site clear, but also bring in new elements when they improve the user experience. The idea is to raise the bar steadily and improve like a cow running − steadily accelerating, without blazing”, says Teemu Salmi, Investor Relations and Communications Manager at Alma Media.

For retail investors, investor pages for listed companies have been a major source of information for a long time. Therefore, since 1999, the The Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion and The Finnish Society of Financial Analysts have awarded the work of investor communications professionals by selecting the best investor sites of listed companies every year. The award is to help the companies improve its investor communications.

The Best Investor Pages award has been presented in previous years and the competition has clearly pushed companies to improve their investor pages,” says Sari Lounasmeri, CEO of the Stock Exchange Foundation.

The criteria are strict. Investor pages were evaluated and examined for example in their usability, layout; and how strategy, growth and profitability were expressed, how financial objectives and past history presented, how the use of capital, operational risks and accountability were explained.

Jury

The stock exchange gala jury included investment blogger Jasmin Hamid; value investing pioneer and retail investor Mika Heikkilä; major investor, investment writer Tom Lindström; Professor Vesa Puttonen and CEO of The Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion Sari Lounasmeri, who also chaired the jury.
