Alma Media Sells E-kontakti

Alma Media Corporation                                   Press Release                             December 21, 2021

ALMA MEDIA SELLS E-KONTAKTI

Alma Media Finland Ltd has today agreed to sell E-kontakti to City Digital, an investment and development company specialising in online platforms and media. Its best-known brands include Suomi24, Treffit24, City magazine, Deitti.net, TableOnline.fi and Improve Media.

The business ownership will transfer to the new owner on January 1, 2022.

E-kontakti was established in 2009. It is the largest local operator in Finland, with a turnover of just over EUR 1 million in 2020.

The two sides have agreed not to make the purchase price public. The deal has no significant performance impact for Alma Media.

“Dating services are not at the heart of Alma Consumer’s strategy. Instead, our focus is on digital marketplaces in the housing and automotive sectors, comparison services and media. That is also our rationale for finding a new home for E-kontakti. We wish the service and customers all the best going forward,” says Kari Kivelä, director of Alma Consumer.

“We are excited to get a third Finnish dating service in our portfolio. We want to offer Finns domestic, safe alternatives to dating. Our mission is to reduce loneliness and thanks to this business deal, we will be even better placed to do so going forward,” rejoices the CEO of City Digital Ville Heinonen.
