Pohjois-Suomen Media Oy, previously known as Northern Newspapers, is a subsidiary of Alma Media Group. The company publishes the following newspapers in Northern Finland:

  • Pohjolan Sanomat; 7-day regional paper in Kemi, Editor-in-Chief Heikki Lääkkölä
  • Kainuun Sanomat; 7-day regional paper in Kajaani, Editor-in-Chief Matti Piirainen
  • Koti-Kajaani, twice-weekly city paper in Kajaani
  • Uusi Rovaniemi, twice-weekly city paper in Rovaniemi
  • Koillis-Lappi, twice-weekly local paper in Kemijärvi
  • Kuriiri, weekly local paper in Ranua and Posio
  • Meri-Lapin Helmi, weekly town paper in Kemi-Tornio area
  • Lapin Hetki, leisure and travel newspaper with 8 issues a year.

Lapin Kansa and Pohjolan Sanomat are printed in a corporation-owned rotary printing press in Rovaniemi. Kainuun Sanomat is printed by Suomalainen Lehtipaino Oy in Kajaani. The 2009 net sales of the unit was €36,5 M and it has approximately 230 employees.
