The promise of a brisk working pace and sufficient responsibility got Karri Lehtiö to take the position of a reporter offered at Iltalehti.
– I was keen to participate in making the daily news where topics, people, places and events change, he says.
Karri Lehtiö says he mainly writes about entertainment and news items. The versatile reporter is no stranger to cameras, either. The only routine in his job is the newsroom meeting every morning where reporters plan for the stories of the next issue. The meeting often serves only as an orientation, because a story usually evolves from the original idea to many other forms during the day.
– The most rewarding aspects are the intensity and surprises that are inherent in this work. Combined with a dose of humour, they make the job of a news reporter interesting, says Mr Lehtiö.
In addition to the traditional printed newspapers, many reporters also work with the paper's online version. At least in Iltalehti.fi the sights are set high; the online paper is one of Finland's most visited websites.
