Janica arranges great experiences for readers
When she had just started her business studies, Janica Saarinen moved to Tampere. A few years ago she applied for a job in the sales service of Aamulehti’s advertising marketing and got it. Later, she transferred to Pori for a temporary position as marketing assistant in Satakunnan Kansa, another Group newspaper, when the job holder went to maternity leave.
—I worked in Pori for a year and then returned to Tampere and Aamulehti. I started in the reader service of Consumer Marketing, until I got a maternity temp job in the Event Team, Janica recaps her early career.
Aamulehti’s Event Team plans and organises a wide variety of reader events. In her job as Marketing Assistant, Janica Saarinen is also responsible for the Newspaper in Learning activity, which includes designing and organising Aamulehti’s contribution to events like the National Newspaper Week and Traffic Week.
—I like the versatility of my work, and also that I get to meet a lot of people. It was absolutely fabulous being part of the Moro local paper’s Car Boot Flea Market and see the Central Market Square in Tampere swarming with people.
Janica says she likes working at Alma. She has been very kindly received in every department, and she has seen the media business from many different angles and noticed that the business has a wide range of opportunities.
—I have got good advice and I’ve been trusted. There have been no complications when moving from one business unit or department to another, and this has given me an excellent opportunity to widen my perspectives and get many types of work experience.
