BULLETIN 18 MAY 2001, 10.15 AM (EET) PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE PROPOSES TO HALVE THE OPERATING LICENCE FEE In their submission to the Ministry of Transport and Communications today, a parliamentary committee headed by Mr Jouni Backman MP proposes that the operating licence fee levied on commercial television companies be halved with effect from 1 July 2002. If approved, the proposal would reduce MTV3 Channels annual costs by more than MFIM 100. According to the proposal, digital television channels will not be required to pay an operating licence fee.
