SATAKUNNAN KANSA AND SK24.FI WILL UNDERGO RENEWAL
Printed paper gets tabloid format in January 2012

The newspaper Satakunnan Kansa, part of the Alma Media Group, as well as its online service SK24.fi will be renewed. The paper in its new format and the new online service will be available for readers and customers on January 17, 2012.

The renewal will involve a change in the working methods to create content, as well as a new design and structure. The printed paper will change into tabloid format. The tabloid has been proven easy to handle for the reader and an efficient vehicle for the advertiser, in both Finland and in other countries.

“The idea is to increase the local aspect, to separate the newspaper’s content from the online service and to increase interaction with readers and customers. Alma Media’s three regional papers appearing in North Finland-Lapin Kansa, Pohjolan Sanomat and Kainuun Sanomat-have been appearing in tabloid format since January 2011. The good reception of the tabloid format in North Finland was one of the factors that encouraged us to go ahead with the renewal,” says Petri Hakala, the publisher of Satakunnan Kansa.
