ALMA MEDIA ADOPTS NEW ADMINISTRATIVE MODEL

ALMA MEDIA CORP. STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 9 APRIL 2002, 10.00 AM ALMA MEDIA ADOPTS NEW ADMINISTRATIVE MODEL Alma Media has adopted a new model of corporate administration. The company’s Board of Directors convenes 4-6 times a year, concentrating on strategic decisions and policy-making. Operative management of the corporation is the responsibility of President and CEO with assistance of the Executive Committee. The new model does away the previous Group Executive Board. The Executive Committee comprises President and CEO Juho Lipsanen; Juha Blomster, head of Business Information Group (BIG); Pekka Karhuvaara, head of Broadcasting (television and radio); Raimo Mäkilä, head of Alma Media Interactive (new media and R&D); Hannu Olkinuora, head of Alpress (newspaper publishing); Heikki Salonen, head of Alprint (printing of magazines and promotional products); Lauri Helve, Editor-in-Chief; and CFO Ritva Sallinen, Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration. Changes in business areas Alma Media’s Broadcasting division consists of MTV Oy, which is responsible for the Group’s analogue and digital TV broadcasting activities, as well as Oy Suomen Uutisradio Ab (Radio Nova). Broadcasting is headed by Executive Vice President Pekka Karhuvaara. Alma Media’s New Media business unit has been renamed Alma Media Interactive. Research and development within Alma Media Interactive will henceforth focus on activities that supplement the R&D projects of Alma Media’s other divisions, that support their core businesses and that promote their commercialization. Alma Media Interactive is headed by Executive Vice President Raimo Mäkilä.
