RADIO NOVA HAS REAPPLIED FOR OPERATING LICENCE

(EET) 1 (1) RADIO NOVA HAS REAPPLIED FOR OPERATING LICENCE The holder of Radio Nova's operating licence, Oy Suomen Uutisradio Ab, has delivered its operating licence application for nationwide commercial analogue radio operation to the Ministry of Transport and Communications yesterday. Suomen Uutisradio applies for a ten- year licence. The reapplication was required in December following a change in the company's ownership. Alma Media Group's share of Suomen Uutisradio has now amounted to 61 percent (formerly 48 percent) following the transaction carried into effect. The other shareholders are Suomen Kansallisviestintä Oy, Suomen Radioviestintä Oy and Special Hopea Oy Suomi, each with a 13 percent holding. According to the Ministry the intention is to reach a decision on the new operating licence in January. Radio Nova began operating in spring 1997. Its programming consists of news and magazine programs, music and weather service and it is targeted to adults. It reaches more than 1.5 million Finnish adults weekly.
