Finnish Competition Authority has referred Alma Media Corporation’s and Arena Partners’ cooperation to continued consideration

FINNISH COMPETITION AUTHORITY HAS REFERRED ALMA MEDIA CORPORATION’S AND ARENA PARTNERS’ COOPERATION TO CONTINUED CONSIDERATION

 

Alma Media Corporation announced on 29 March, 2010 that Alma Media Corporation and the business development company Arena Partners Oy, owned jointly by five newspaper publishers operating in Central Finland, will start cooperation in the national classified advertising business. The deal was noted to be subject to approval by the Finnish Competition Authority.

 

Alma Media has been informed today that the Finnish Competition Authority has referred the arrangement to continued consideration. In continued consideration, the Finnish Competition Authority may approve the arrangement as such, set terms and conditions for its approval or propose that the Market Court rejects the transaction. The continued consideration may last three months at most.
