The survey asked for customers’ thoughts and more than 700 of Finland’s most significant marketing executives gave their opinion. Their effort is very significant for the development of the entire industry. Finland and Finnish businesses need their marketing to be even more profitable and high-quality to speed up their growth aspirations and improve international competitiveness. At Alma, we want to demonstrate the power of marketing in business development and bravely together with our customers build sustainable growth, says Kai Telanne, Alma Media’s President and CEO.

Increasing marketing resources is achieved by continuously developing expertise and cooperation between agencies. Launching the Agency of the Year survey supports this objective and simultaneously presents the chance to thank the agencies that have done well in the intense competition, says Ritva Hanski-Pitkäkoski, CEO of the Association of Finnish Advertisers.

The winners will be announced at a gala to be organised on 10 February 2017. The gala gathers together all of the industry’s best designers, project managers, customer executives, agency management and marketing executives.

Based on the Årets Byrå concept developed by the Swedish company Regi, Agency of the Year is a survey on customer satisfaction among the buyers of marketing, advertising and communication services, as well as the most significant criteria influencing the choice of agency and trends in the marketing industry. In Finland, the market research agency Norstat Finland will be responsible for collecting data and analysing the results, while the concept’s marketing and deployment will be the responsibility of Alma Media, the Association of Finnish Advertisers and the marketing agency selection consultancy Breezeway.

The agencies’ operations are evaluated based on the customer service experience and realised projects/results. A total of 725 interviews were accepted in the final data. Most of the interviews were carried out as online questionnaires for the customer registers provided by the companies themselves. Data was amended with telephone interviews.
